Information about cruises in Barcelona

The Port of Barcelona is the largest cruise ship harbor in the Mediterranean, and the fifth largest in the world, following the major Caribbean hubs. Sitting at the foot of the Ramblas, and just next to the mountain of Montjuïc, the port is perhaps Barcelona’s most romantic point of entry.

Barcelona welcomes some of the world’s biggest and most luxurious cruise ships; the Voyager of the Seas, the Adventure of the Sea, the Norwegian Jade, the MSC Splendia and Fantasia, the Celebrity Equinox, the Sovereign, the Brilliance of the Sea, the Grand Princess, the Crown Princesa, the Navigator of the Sea, as well as many others that make special stop-overs in our city.

The Cruise Port is comprised of 7 international passenger terminals, each easily accessible to and from our hotels:

Terminal A – Moll Adossat. The Port administrative board decided to tear down the old terminal and re-launch it in 2008 with a surface area of 3,450m2. The project was designed in accordance with ISPS regulations (International Ship and Port Security Code).

Terminal B – Moll Adossat. Inaugurated in 2005, and with a 6,500m2 area, Terminal B can play host to ships carrying 140,000 tons and up to 3,600 passengers; these are the largest ships that sail the Mediterranean.
The architectural project was completed by BEA International (Miami) and also complies with ISPS regulations.

Terminal C – Moll Adossat. This terminal was also recently reconstructed, and now boasts a surface area of 4,000m2.

Terminal D – Palacruceros (Moll Adossat). This modern facility was designed by architects Luigi Vicini and Andrea Piazza, and financed in full by the Italian company Costa Crociere, SpA.
The preferred landing-point for the Carnival Group, Terminal D boasts a 2-story design and a total surface area of 10,000m2.

North and South Terminals – Barcelona wharf. These two international cruise terminals span a surface area of 5,000m2, and are located at the World Trade Center. Their proximity to the city center grants passengers easy access to Barcelona; the Columbus monument is just a 5-minute walk away.

Barcelona Ferry Terminal – Sant Bertran wharf. This ferry terminal has daily connections with the Balearic islands: Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza.

Terminal Z – Drassanes –Barcelona wharf. This terminal occasionally serves as a cruise ship terminal.

Bus Cruise Terminal (Blue Bus)

The Blue Bus is a transportation service that runs between the cruise ports and the Christopher Columbus monument in the city center; from there, passengers can access taxi stands, or the L-3 metro line at the Drassanes stop. The Tourist Bus also stops regularly at the Columbus statue.

The Blue Bus does not operate on a regular schedule, but rather to coordinate with cruise ship arrivals and departures. Generally, the bus leaves the Columbus monument every half hour. It is equipped to accommodate disabled persons and those traveling in wheelchairs.
