Art Nouveau splendour.

Barcelona is very proud of its examples of Catalan Art Nouveau. The Eixample is the area with the highest concentration of buildings in this style - a real luxury for those looking to discover one of the most beatiful and characteristic sides of Barcelona.

1. Palau de la Música Catalana. Concert hall with an incredible façade, ornate stage and spectacular central glass light. Designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. St. Pere Més Alt, 11.


2. Els Quatre Gats. This emblematic restaurant was styled on Le Chat Noir of Paris and became the meeting point for intellectuals of the Art Nouveau scene, such as Picasso, Gaudí o Rusiñol. Montsió, 3.


3. Casa Lleó-Morera. Excellent, ornate façade designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner and inspired by medieval and legendary motifs. P. de Gràcia, 35.


4. Casa Amatller. This Art Nouveau house by great artist Josep Puig i Cadafalch combines features of the Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles, using the traditional materials of the time. P. de Gràcia, 41.


5. Casa Batlló. One of the great universal jewels of Antoni Gaudí, which he designed to create a "vision of paradise" using ceramic mosaic tiles, wrought iron and stained glass. P. de Gràcia, 43.


6. Casa Milà (La Pedrera). Undoubtedly one of the most emblematic and imaginative works that Gaudí left humanity. Its features include an undulating façade, irregular interiors and curious chimneys. P. de Gràcia, 92.
