Casa Batlló. 1 Passeig de Gràcia, 43. The Casa Batlló located on the so-called manzana de la discordia (Apple of Discord), is a clear example of Gaudí’s surprishing creative capacity. The facade, covered whith different - coloured glass and ceramic fragments, has beautifull wavy balconies with delicate columns decorated with floral themes. One of the building’s greatest attraccions is its roof in the shape of a dragon.
Park Güell & Casa Museo Gaudí. 2 Olot, s/n (Park Güell). The modernist building, located near the Park Guell, was the residence of Antoni Gaudí from 1906 to 1926. Inside, are many pieces of furniture designed by this brillant Catalonian architect. In Addiction, his own bedroom and one of de bathrooms has been preserved exactly as they were when Gaudí lived there.
La Pedrera - Caixa Catalunya Foundation. 6 Passeig de Gràcia, 92. It is popularly known as La Pedrera (stone quarry), because of its facade, which brings a cliff to mind. The building was conceived by Gaudí, between 1905 and 1912, as and outstanding work of art wich exceeds the framework of architecture and impinges on other artistic disciplines, such as sculpture. A visit incluyes a trip thought the Espai Gaudí, which in the two parts; a permanent exhibition dedicated to the work of the architect , and a visit to the roof, where the architectural-scuptural elements of the building can be admired. In addiction, one can visit an apartament deorated in the style of the times on the fifth floor, diplaying modernist furniture and utensils. Sagrada Familia. 7 Marina 253. This church is considered to be Gaudí’s most important work. He spent the greater part of his life planning the most unusual cathedral in the whole of Europe. It dates from 1883, when Gaudí was made responsible for continuing the project begun by Francesc de Paula Villar. Gaudí radically changed the original design. At his death only one tower had been finished and the facade of the Nativity, with its rich figures and decorative elements. Constructión still continues today.
Fundació Antoni Tàpies. 20 Aragó, 255. The Foundació Antoni Tàpies houses the most complete collection of Works by this important artist, whose creative trayectory can be evaluated though his paintings, engravings, and sculptures. His work 'Nube y Silla', made whith aluminium tubes a wire, has been taken as the emblem of the museum. Temporary exhibitions of contemporary art also held here.
Museu del Futbol Club Barcelona. 35 Avinguda Arístides Maillol. An absolute must-see for all sports fans and soccer enthusiasts, the FC Barcelona Museum tells the 100-year history of the football club and exhibits all the athletic awards and honors the team has received from 1899 through the present.

Museu Casa-Taller Durancamps. 15 Avinguda Diagonal, 407. Since 2001, the Durancamps-Casas Foundation has been showcasing the work of artist Rafael Durancamps. The museum displays over one hundred of his sketches and paintings in its eight galleries, as well several pieces of the artist’s furniture and personal belongings that recreate his studio, giving visitors a glimpse into Durancamps’ artistic and personal trajectories.
Fundación Francisco Godia. 16 Valencia, 284. This is a new museum which houses part of private collection of businessman and Formula 1 racing driver Francisco Godia Sales. Specializing in medieval paintings and sculptures, it encompasses one of the best collection of ceramics in completed by an outstanding selection of modern paintings, with works by Sorolla, Casa Novell, and Gutierrez Solana.
Museu de les Arts Decoratives. Pedralbes Royal Palace. 21 Avinguda Diagonal, 686. This museum preuses a walk through the history of the decorative arts by jeans of periode furniture from varius city mansions, and unusual household furnishings dating from the Middle Ages until the present day. The museum also has rooms dedicated to industrial design.
Museu de Ceràmica. Palau Reial de Pedralbes. 22 Avinguda Diagonal, 686. The Palau Reial of Pedralbes contains Spain´s largest exhibitions of fine ceramics, with work dating from the 11th century up to the present day. Particularly interesting is the Arab pottery and the collection of Renaissance and Baroque ceramics which contains pieces from Aragón, Sevlleand Talavera. Outstanding among the Catalonian pieces are the panels, the corrida de toros and the chocolatada. The collection is completed by ceramic Works by Miró, Picasso and Camella, among others.
Museu Geològic del Seminari de Barcelona. 33 Diputació, 231. Inagurated in 1978 by Dr. Jaume Almera, it conatins an unusual and important collection of fossils from different eras. Among the work on show from Pliocene, and an important collection of cretaceous, sponges, corals and molluscs.
Museu de l’ Esport Dr. Melcior Colet. 34 Buenos Aires, 56-58. This museum is dedicated to the history of sport, Spanish, Internacional and Olympic. Here, one can contemplate all kinds of objects once owned by sportsmen, from the ice axe used by Carles Vallès in his ascent of Everest, to the short of footballer Ricardo Zamora.
Museu Etnogràfic Andino-Amazònic. 37 Cardenal Vives i Tutó, 2-16. A little removed from the city center, the Capuchinos de Sarrià Convent houses an extraordinary collection of ethnographic objects gathered during the last half of the 19th century by the Capuchin missionaries in the Andes and Amazons. The collection also features pre-Colombian ceramics, indigenous crafts, and ritual masks.
Museu Egipci de Barcelona – Fundació Arqueològica Clos. 39 València, 284. The collection on display in this museum contains some invaluable Works which illustrate the evolution of Egyptian art. They range from a colosal image of Ramses II to sarcophaguses, jewels, and perfume botles. A walk though the modern, welcoming display rooms bring to the vissitor fascinating civilisations in history. In addiction, the collection provides information which it is hoped will stimulate the public’s interest in finding out more about ancient Egypt.
Museu – Monestir de Pedralbes. 43 Baixada del Monestir, 9. This monastery was founded by Elisenda de Montcada, wife of King Jaume II of Aragón, in 1326. Its impressive three – floored cloister is well worth a visit. Here can be found the chapel of Sant Miquel, decorated with lovely murals representing various scenes from the life of the Virgen, painted by Ferrer Bassa. Today it houses the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection and the Monestir de Pedralbes Museum.
Casa Amatller. 51 Passeig de Gràcia, 41. The graduated facade of this modernist building, designed by josep Puig i Cadafalch, together with the porter’s lodge and the main floor conserve their original richness and evoke the atmosphere of the times. At present it houses the Institute de Arte Hispánico.
Fundació Foto Colectania. 55 Julián Romea, 6. The Foto Colectania Foundation was established in 2002 with two main objectives: to promote Spanish and Portuguese photography, 1950 through the present, and to boost photo collecting. It is now home to over 2,00 works by some 45 photographers, among them, Paco Gómez, Kim Manresa, Toni Catany, Joan Colom and Inés Gonçalves.
Fundació Joan Brossa. 56 Provença, 318. The Joan Brossa Foundation was created in 1999 with the aim of promoting and conserving the poet’s work and sharing its messages with thousands of readers and visitors. The exhibition contains 23 object poems, 13 visual poems, posters and books by the artist, as well as manuscripts, photographs and films.
Palau Robert. 57 Passeig de Gràcia, 107. Aside from serving as a wonderful resource for tourist and cultural information for the whole of Catalonia, the Palau Robert hosts all types of artistic and cultural events, including exhibits, concerts and craft workshops.
Museu del Perfum. 66 Passeig de Gràcia, 39. Extensive exhibition of perfume containers and essences from different cultures and civilizations. Different ceramic, glass, and other receptacles from diferent times in history, together with miniaturas, cataloges, labels, and ild advertising material, make up this museum’s collection.
